Much of the AIR-C3 team met at iDE’s offices in Phnom Penh, Cambodia from January 27 through January 31. The weather was fantastic, though we had a couple of days of quite high particulate air pollution, potentially related to crop burning activities in Cambodia and beyond. Nonetheless, the meeting was a tremendous success, enabled by Jed’s and Phearak’s excellent planning and by the incredible logistical support and hospitality of the iDE team.

The AIR-C3 kickoff meeting introduced the US- and Cambodia-based research teams to each other and reviewed the study’s aims, timeline, and implementation strategies, establishing a shared understanding of roles, data needs, and site selection and sampling criteria. The meeting supported rigorous planning for formative research and data collection to assess stove use, household air pollution, environmental impacts, and other outcomes.
